Cousin's visit to Cali

My cousin Victoria came out to CA for a week by herself to look at college's. I can't believe that she's that old already...I remember when she was just a baby! :) Anyways, she was up north for a few days and then came to SoCal to look at USC and UCLA. She had a blast and luckily the weather was nice for her, so that she could enjoy CA. Saturday my mom, Victoria and myself all headed down to Huntington Beach because Victoria wanted to go. See her family lives in Michigan, so when they come to California they always go to the beach! :) It was a beautiful day and we went and had lunch at Ruby's on the pier, then walked down to the ocean so we could feel how cold the water was. After drying off, we walked up and down main street to look for some things for my cousin to take back with her. So glad I got to hang out with my cousin...we don't see them very often, so it was nice to spend time with her.

Mammoth Trip

About 2 weeks ago my family went on a skiing trip to Mammoth! Ken had never been, so he was super excited. We drove up Thursday afternoon and arrived around 6 p.m. After getting to the condo, we quickly unpacked the cars and then headed over the Burgers for dinner. Friday morning we all got ready and headed to the mountain. Mammoth had just gotten about 4 ft. of snow the weekend before so we knew the conditions would be awesome. Parking was not an issue like we thought it would be...no one was there! So everyone headed out for the day and then we all met up for lunch, then skied a few more hours before calling it quits. Saturday morning everyone but Ken and Brett went to the Village to walk around and look at the cute shops. Ken was going to snowboard rain, snow or shine and Brett was a good sport about going with him. That evening the snow storm came in, but it didn't dump as much as we thought it would. Sunday morning we woke up to sunshine and all of the roads cleared. We would have loved to have stayed another day, but we had to get home! :( On the way home we stopped at Schatz bakery to grab sandwhiches for the road...I love that place. It's so cute and when you walk in it smells so yummy! :) It was a great trip...can't wait to go again!
