Sad News

Today I got a call from my mom letting me know that my grandma on my dad's side of the family passed away yesterday. Grandma Jean was a very sweet lady. She always knew how to make people laugh and always had a smile on her face. She married my grandpa right after I was born, after his first wife passed away from breast cancer. They lived up north in San Jose, and I remember going to their house all the time and they would let us drive their golf carts around (of course while they sat in the passenger's seat). They lived up north for many years, but moved to Yorba Linda after my grandpa got sick and needed care 24/7. My grandpa passed away 8 years ago from colon cancer, and ever since then my Grandma has been dealing with Alzheimer's. We haven't seen much of her, but she will be deeply missed by our family. My thoughts and prayers are with her kids and families at this time. We miss you Grandma Jean.

Baby Bennett is here!!

On Sunday my best friend Tara had her little baby boy. I unfortunatly couldn't go to the hospital and see him because I was sick. She sent a few pictures from her phone and he is just the cutest little bundle of joy. His name is Ethan Thomas. Isn't that so cute! I can't wait till I'm feeling better to finally go see him. Congrats Brian and Tara! I'm so excited for you guys during this new stage of life.

Valentine's Day

Ken and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day this year. I came home to some beautiful flowers sitting on the kitchen table along with a new ipod armband for working out. I gave Ken the 1st season of Camelot, which he had never seen, but seemed interested to start watching it. For dinner we decided to head down to Newport Beach to have dinner at the Rusty Pelican.

We made reservations, but hit major traffic driving down which was something that I was not expecting. When we arrived to the restaurant, we had to sit on the street for literaly 5 minutes becasue there were only 2 valet guys working and they weren't moving cars nearly fast enough. Needless to say we finally got into the parking lot, but not before Ken made it quite clear how much he hated people not paying attention. Anyways, we get inside and get a table right next to the windows over looking the harbor. It was a beautiful night and we had some amazing food. I had the Sea Bass which is was to die for, and Ken had the salmon with shrimp. As we were leaving the lobby was so packed which made me very thankful that we got an early reservation. When we got home we rented the movie Moneyball which stars Brad Pitt...and it was a really good movie!

Our New Addiction

Over the past few months Ken and I have become addicted to the tv show The Big Bang Theory! We can't get enough of it. We started watching it last month, and are already onto season 3. It is the best show ever, and can't believe that it's taken us this long to realize it! :)

Trip up North

Ken and I hadn't been to Redding in almost a year, so when Christmas came and went we started talking with his folks and they were saying that they really wanted up to come visit. Ken was able to get a week off of work, so away we went! It was so great to get away for Orange County and be surrounded by family and the good ole country life. We enjoyed some great food, watched lots of movies and went racing at K1 Speed. Hopefully we won't wait forever to get up that direction to see family again. We miss them every day and wish that they all lived closer!
